Equipment data we collect, how we collect it, and what we use it for.
Automaate’s equipment may be equipped with on-board devices known as GPS Devices and Cameras, which facilitate their connection to the internet. The GPS Devices and Cameras enable the Equipment to transmit and receive specific information, including but not limited to:
- Geolocation Data: The global positioning system provides geolocation data, allowing us to track the location of the Equipment, enabling efficient logistics and management.
- Speed: The GPS Devices can provide information about the speed at which the Equipment is operating.
- Battery Voltage: Information related to the battery voltage of the Equipment is recorded by the GPS Devices.
- Ignition Status: The GPS Devices can monitor and provide details about the ignition status of the Equipment.
- Camera Images: These are stored locally on the robot and will not be uploaded to the cloud by default. However, the remote operator with authorization can access the sensor data from the cloud portal after providing credentials.
Information from the GPS Devices and Cameras may be used for the following specific purposes:
- Maintenance and Servicing: The data gathered helps us identify when the Equipment requires maintenance or servicing, ensuring that it operates optimally and safely.
- Theft and Unauthorized Use: In case the Equipment is stolen, not returned at the end of the hire period, or used unlawfully, the GPS data can be provided to the police or relevant authorities to aid in recovery efforts.
- Accident or Incident Verification: In the event of an accident or incident during the hire period, the GPS data can be used to verify the Equipment’s location at the time of the reported event.
- Operational Efficiency: Speed and other data are used to assess and improve the operational efficiency of the Equipment.
- Breakdown Assistance: If a breakdown is reported, the GPS data allows us to pinpoint the exact location of the Equipment, enabling us to provide accurate information to breakdown responders for swift assistance.
- Compliance Monitoring: The GPS data helps us ensure that the Equipment is used within the specified parameters, such as adhering to prohibited areas under the hire contract conditions or complying with manufacturer’s specifications and hire terms.
